Empower Chess exists because chess training had become fragmented and overpriced — one tool for puzzles, another for analysis, another for lessons, another for tournaments, each with its own subscription. Sai Prahlad K, a working International chess coach, was tired of stitching together a dozen expensive apps for his own students. So he built one.
Empower Chess brings live coaching, calculation training, tournaments, courses, and a genuinely useful AI coach into a single, affordable home — the platform our own academy uses every day, opened up for everyone.
Overgeared AI EDU EXIM Private Limited builds and operates Empower Chess. It is the entity behind the platform, the payments, and the technology.
Seed Succeed Academy — a Chennai-based chess academy founded by Sai Prahlad K — created Empower Chess. The academy has trained 1,400+ students across the world and remains the proving ground for everything we build.
The founder — Sai Prahlad K
Sai Prahlad K is an International FIDE chess player and Arena Grandmaster, an international coach, author, and tournament organizer. He began coaching part-time in 2012 and went full-time in 2020 — and through the pandemic ran a mission to teach hundreds of students at a price ordinary families could actually afford.
He is also the developer and marketer behind Empower Chess: the rare coach who not only teaches the game but builds the tools to teach it better. Outside chess, he is a devoted animal lover.
That blend — grandmaster-level method, a teacher’s obsession with making it accessible, and the engineering to ship it — is exactly what Empower Chess is made of.
